Lizards, flowers & a rainbow

Kriegh mowing grass.....he feels at home!

This one's for you David!!! How about this flower!!!!!!

Sunset Cruise

This is a bit of a mish mash!!! We took a sunset cruise on Wednesday, complete with drinks! The other 2 pictures are of the spiral staircase connecting the 2 decks and our bedroom!

Diving & Sunset Cruise

We have had a great time diving and have great pictures, but the ste won't take the pictures right now. Will post when it will take them later.

Floating market

We are lucky to have Mette & Aaron with us. In addition to it being wonderful to see them, THEY COOK! Aaron picked out fish at the floating market and watched while the fish monger cut it up. I am hoping to include pictures of this fish on the dinner table.

To the left is the night skyline. The temperaure after dinner was 77 degrees! Just the best!!!!

Here we are at dinner at Fort Naussau. The view was spectacular! Dick & Mette found they both love ice cream and here they are comparing their desserts.

We forget how convenient posting on the internet is at home!!! It has been interesting to find an internet link that works here.

This is our villa. We have really enjoyed preparing meals and each others company while lounging around.

Today is Fiday and we have had a fabulous time diving, eating shopping and visiting with family. I am going to try to insert pictures with comment and see how it goes.

Monday & Tuesday

We arrived at the villa at about 10:30. Kriegh, my brother & Linda his wife, were here and my nephew Aaron & Mette, his girlfriend arrived 1 day earlier. The house is fabulous! Perched on a hillside overlooking the water, it has 2 decks connected with a spiral stair. We all have our own rooms decorated beautifully. We have a fully appointed kitchen and are enjoying each other's company at breakfast and lunch in the villa. We can eat inside or out. It was 85 degrees today, so we are eating in!

Am trying to upload photos from last night and today and it is not working....yet. So stay tuned!

Last night we went out for dinner Willemstad and dined at a restaurant that was on the water. The seafood was great and listening to the waves crash over the rocks....10 degrees seems very far away! The island has 40 different nationalities here and it is reflected in the restaurant choices as well as the Colonial Dutch architecture. Linda says it reminds her of South Africa. We have some great pictures....maybe tomorrow! Tonight we'll eat Indonesian.

Dick & I went diving today and it was wonderful. We saw the Mushroom Forest, spectacular coral formations. The dive operation is well organized and such fun! We look forward to diving tomorrow and will go on a sunset cruise around the island tomorrow evening.

Aaron, Mette, Kriegh & Linda went back down to Willemstad to shop a little and found food court of sorts with all local fare.

We are having a great time! Wish you were here ;)

On our way!

We drove to Green Bay so Dick could join David at the All Canada Show. They are researching a fine fishing trip...it should be fun! After a fabulous lunch with David & Susan, we drove to Newton to visit with Deb and Ray. We missed Deb's Fish Club the night before, so enjoyed hearing how everyone was and really enjoyed meeting Ray. A delightful visit! Ray took our picture with the mounds of snow they are enjoying at the lakeshore, and we departed for Chicago.

This morning we caught our flight to Miami with no problem and are sitting in MIA waiting for our plane to Curacao. We should be boarding in about one hour.

Dick is reading and is completely relaxed. Ahhhhh we love retirement!

Getting Ready

It is 1 degree right now in northern Wisconsin. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! We will soon be in warmer temperatures as we leave from Mountain, Wisconsin to join travelers from New Berlin, Illinois and Berlin, Germany. The six of us will be meeting in Curacao for a week of just plain fun. Stay tuned!
